Earth at Home IV
It’s Earth Day!
I always get excited when Earth Day comes around, because it’s the inspiration behind DMC Original Art. Earth and nature is also what’s inspired my interest in slowing down and embracing a sense of flow.
If you’re signed up to receive the DMC Original Art newsletter, you’re aware of the sensory cruise I’ve been on since the start of this year. In month four of my sensory cruise, I’m further tapping into nature vibes.
My intention for the sensory cruise is to share with you some things I have noticed that contributes to uplifting my experiences, creating “feel good” moments. I’m calling this series “A Sense of Flow,” as I combine elemental energy (earth, air, water, fire) with bringing awareness to what makes me feel good, and how it may connect to nature. Each month, I’ll share some of the things that have been contributing to my joy through five of my physical senses, while at home.
Five Ways I’m Flowing with my Senses in April
I’m Seeing the trees outside of my window regain their lush neon green leaves. It’s nice to witness them thrive day by day.
I’m Smelling the clean aroma of rose essential oil. A little goes a long way, adding a light and refreshing scent to my space.
I’m Hearing my favorite 90’s R&B songs play while I paint, by Babyface, Tevin Campbell, Toni Braxton, Kenny Lattimore, Whitney Houston, Luther Vandross, Mariah Carey, just to name a few…
I’m Tasting spring water and eating lots of water-based fruits and vegetables. Water, water, water!
I’m Touching the leaves of my avocado plant that sits on my coffee table, because I am in awe at how large the leaves are growing so quickly! If you have an avocado pit, I highly recommend burying it in soil and sprinkling it with water.
That’s my vibe.
