Hi there! I’m Danielle M. Chery, a self-trained artist and the founder of DMC Original Art, an award-winning home decor business based in Brooklyn, NY. What started as a hobby in 2012 grew into a passion that inspired me to launch my business in 2021.

I specialize in creating functional abstract art for both residential and commercial spaces, drawing inspiration from the vibrant and dynamic flow of nature. Alongside my art, I’m also a published author with a deep love for travel. I’ve had the privilege of exploring over 60 international cities, and my experiences abroad continually inspire my creativity. I often live by the motto, “Happy is the girl who travels the world.”

Whether I’m walking through the streets of Brooklyn or discovering new sights overseas, these experiences influence my work. I’m also passionate about teaching and enjoy leading workshops where I guide participants of all ages in the meditative process of creating fluid art.

My work has been featured in national publications like Aspire Design and Home Magazine, Yoga Journal, NY Amsterdam News, and the LA Sentinel. In 2024, I graduated from the Goldman Sachs One Million Black Women: Black in Business program.

My diverse collection of custom-designed functional art includes everything from colorful coasters and elegant serving trays to tables and abstract art for walls. I use a fluid art technique that combines moving meditation and a unique form of breathwork to craft marble-like designs on wood and ceramic with acrylic paints and epoxy resin. My mission is to convey peace and freedom through my abstract creations, which have been showcased in stores like West Elm, H&M, and the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Shop.

On this website, you can browse and purchase unique, collectible items, learn about the services I offer, read blog posts about my creative process, and explore special projects featured on the Press page—like "Underwater Tune," a painted piano.

Join the DMC Original Art family and adorn your home with functional resin art, deeply influenced by the colorful rhythms of nature.

My Process:

Art is my meditation. I believe that the energy we bring to our work shapes the outcome, and for me, that energy is cultivated through daily practices of meditation and breathwork. These mindful practices are not just part of my routine; they are infused into every step of my artistic process.

Before I begin each piece, I take time to center myself through breathwork, allowing a sense of calm and focus to guide my creative flow. This intentional approach allows me to connect deeply with my materials and the natural elements that inspire my work.

Using an abstract technique known as “fluid art,” I blend soft-body acrylic paints with epoxy resin to create marble-like designs that mirror the organic patterns found in nature. Each piece is meticulously handcrafted, embodying the uniqueness and free-flowing essence of the natural world.

My goal is to create art that not only beautifies spaces but also brings a sense of peace and tranquility to those who experience it. By merging mindfulness with creativity, I’m able to craft pieces that resonate on a deeper level, offering more than just visual appeal—they offer a moment of calm in a busy world.
