Why decorating your home is important
Let’s take a trip.
Where’s the first place you can think of visiting? Is it far away or within a reasonable distance? Do you absolutely love the climate there? Can you feel the warmth or brisk air? What do you smell? Fresh mangos, sandalwood? What are you seeing? Soft colors, bold patterns? Fresh flowers, plants? Are you someplace edgy, calm, soothing? To what place do you escape for a sense of self-care? Have we narrowed it down? What if home felt like this place, all the time? How would that make you feel?
What if your desired retreat became your home? Your all-around happy place. Waking up to a vacation home every day is a dream. A place where all of our favorite things are; a vibe. Where all of your go-to candle scents are burning softly. Where the mirror you’ve always wanted hangs on your bedroom wall, giving you that extra boost of confidence. Where your new home office includes an accent wall of design that brings you so much joy. Where your money tree plant is growing like wildflowers. Where you are manifesting and practicing the law of attraction.
Home is paradise, in whatever way we choose to define “paradise."
What if we didn’t have these things we love so much? There’s a great possibility that we would continue to look for an escape to the other places we love. When we decorate our homes to fulfill a sort of escape, we’re not trying to replace travel at all, yet we look at our homes as an art museum that we’ve built and designed to reflect our personality. Each collected item tells a part of our story.
You’ll know a lot about me by stepping into my home. It speaks for me. You’ll see earth tones, and smell essential oils. You’ll see original art. You’ll see plants and lots of gold accents! I love nature, and you can tell by how I choose to decorate my home. What are you collecting?
Home Decor is a sort of therapy. We are satisfying all of our senses in a place we are now spending the majority of our time. If not decorating our home with our favorite things, then where do we decorate? If not telling our story through a collection of items, then how are we telling it? Keep in mind, our collection can be as minimal or as grand as we’d like - that too tells our story.
Decorating our home is important because we have a chance to tell our story without speaking. It’s our way of collecting what we love, without justification. It’s our way of traveling while staying put.
