It's more than just painting. I'm grateful to share this documentary that is part of The Buy From A Black Woman Living Examples Docuseries presented by H&M.
We filmed it in April 2022 on my grandmother's birthday. My grandmother's love is incomparable, and although she has transitioned years ago, I still feel her presence, and I still hear her wishing me all the lucks in the world. To know that she left Haiti on her own, as a teenager, and moved to NYC still amazes me. Her courage, determination, independence, and faith in the possibilities also lives inside of me. I think she would be proud to see that I am making my dreams come true, one by one. It's always been her wish. Look, Mom - we're in a documentary!
Talk about Black History. We're making it, everyday.
I'm still learning so much about myself and how I process life experiences, but one thing I know for sure is that dreams are made to be manifested.
The Living Examples docuseries is a Buy From A Black Woman Production in partnership with H&M, telling the stories of 24 Black Women Business Owners and how their journey shaped them into the leaders they are today. Since 2016, Buy From A Black Woman has empowered, educated, and inspired Black Women business owners and the people who support them.
